Working Together to Protect Life!
Berrien County Right to Life Michigan is a nonpartisan, nonsectarian, nonprofit organization of diverse and caring people united to protect the precious gift of human life from fertilization to natural death. We strive to educate people on Right to Life issues, to motivate them to action, encourage community support, and the participation in programs and legislation that foster respect and protection for human life. We also promote and support pro-life candidates. We work on the behalf of defenseless and vulnerable human beings, born and unborn, within our identified life issues of abortion, infanticide, euthanasia and assisted suicide.

Vote NO on PROPOSAL 3!

Here is a line by line analysis of the abortion amendment with possible intended consequences. Take the time to read this. Know what you what you are voting for.
A Sad Day for the Rule of Law
By Barbara Listing, President, Right to Life of Michigan
The Michigan Supreme Court voted 5-2 to overturn the decision of the Board of Canvassers and have placed the proabortion RFFA proposal on the ballot. The argument from the majority was simply that so many people had signed even a flawed formatted amendment there should be an opportunity to vote on it. In their dissent, Justices Zahra (up for re-election this year) and Viviano echoed many of the arguments that our [Right to Life of Michigan] legal team made. Unfortunately, Justice Clement, appointed by Gov. Snyder sided with the 4 Democrats.
So we now have the battle of our lives to defeat this proposal on November 8th. We must focus our energies and resources on winning. We must not allow our beautiful state to become the abortion mecca of the Great Lakes.
We must join together using our many talents to defeat this evil. May God give us the courage, strength, and wisdom.
The "Anything Goes" Abortion Amendment
The Reproductive Freedom for All proposed Michigan constitutional amendment will appear on the November 8th Ballot. Below is the language that will appear on the ballot:
Statewide Ballot Proposal 22-3
A proposal to amend the state constitution to establish new individual right to reproductive freedom, including the right to make all decisions about pregnancy and abortion; allow state to regulate abortion in some cases; and forbid prosecution of individuals exercising established right
This proposed constitutional amendment would:
•Establish new individual right to reproductive freedom, including right to make and carry out all decisions about pregnancy, such as prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, contraception, sterilization, abortion, miscarriage management, and infertility;
•Allow state to regulate abortion after fetal viability, but not prohibit if medically needed to protect a patient’s life or physical or mental health;
•Forbid state discrimination in enforcement of this right; prohibit prosecution of an individual, or a person helping a pregnant individual, for exercising rights established by this amendment;
•Invalidate state laws conflicting with this amendment.
Should this proposal be adopted? [ ] Yes [ ] No
Do you know what this means? The language is confusing. Below is a list of pro-life laws that will be REPEALED if this amendment passes:
1) The Abortion Ban of 1846
2) The Abortion Ban of 1931
3) The Prohibition against publishing “How to Guides”
4) The Partial-birth Abortion Ban
5) The Parental Consent Law
6) The Informed Consent Law
7) The Coercive Abortion Prevention Act
8) The Abortion Insurance Opt-out Law
9) The Clinic Licensing Law
10) The prohibitions against schools referring for abortions
11) The law prioritizing family planning dollars away from abortion clinics.
This amendment would eliminate nearly every legal protection for the unborn and for women.

Nearly 50 years and over 63 million babies lost, the opportunity to protect the youngest members of our nation returns to the states!
June 24, 2022, was a historic day in the history of our nation. Finally, Roe v. Wade was overturned by the US Supreme Court. After 50 years and 63 million babies lost, the opportunity to protect the youngest members of our nation has been returned the States.
While the overturning of Roe v. Wade is a great victory of which we are grateful for, the battle is not over. In Michigan, Right to Life is fighting to keep our life-affirming 1846 law in place that bans all abortion except to save the life of the mother. This ban protects the baby during all nine months of pregnancy. If this ban is overturned, abortion in Michigan will become unlimited and unregulated.
Will you stand with us? Will you pray? Will you donate? Will you speak to your friends and neighbors and share this information with them? Will you vote for pro-life candidates during the August 2nd primary and again in November's general election?
We need your help. We can't win this battle in Michigan without you!
